Initial ideas for my next diorama depicting Lady Godiva according to Roger of Wendover, the oldest form of the legend with her passing through Coventry market from one end to the other while the people were assembled, attended only by two knights (source: "Lady Godiva (Godgifu)", Flowers of History, University of California San Francisco).
All figures from Valdemar's range and scenery from Green line range.
Ready at last!! ☺ Now to be transported to the Grandmasters palace in Valletta to be part of an exhibition on the Siege of Malta from 4th. September to December
As most of you may know,450 years ago my country expehttps://www.facebook.com/assaultonthespurrienced a siege by the Ottomans that lasted a whole summer. To commemorate this historical event our modelling club, IPMS-Malta SSM embarked on a group build, a diorama depicting the assault from the sea by the Ottomans on Fort St. Michael in Senglea, aka The Spur. An almost day by day blog on the progress of this amazing project can be followed on facebook
Hi Valdemar, Can you please delete this topic, because only now I realized that I shouldn't have posted it in this is mainly medieval subjects forum. Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused. Next time ai post will be the Medieval tavern :) which I am continuing :)
My latest vignette. A joint effort with my clubmate and aviation guru Marco Borg (he built the triplane). I hope you like it . The aircraft still needs some minor work on the tail area...
And now I hope to continue working on the Medieval Tavern scene that I started in March last year!!
Have you ever thought of producing figures for a specific war, sort of the hundred years wars, the wars of Scottish independence, The Norman conquest, Malta's great Siege of 1565 (a bit late but still fitting under late medieval I would say:-) ), etc. I know VM produced some superb battle scenes like battle on the ice, etc., but what I'm suggesting here is different I think. Aaa and Samurais too...
