"One for the road!"

Started a new vignette after over a year off the workbench. Figures from Valdemar's range and backdrop cut from laser-cut Fredericus Rex Greenline "Room No.1" and modified with balsa wood.

I thought of another setting, which I think has more visual balance, the characters are all facing the viewer and therefore a better overall composition.

The guy standing on the barrel will have a cup in his right hand and a jug (cannibalized from another figure) in the left.

Ray, just love your sence of detail and the faces looks amazing... I always wondered how you can paint 54mm style on 25mm figures...

Yes valdemar I try to put as much detail as possible, especially in the face which is the most important, but it takes me ages to finish a scene
Thanks for looking!

Back to work on the Tavern scene...

I just love the crispness of these sculpts. They are fun to paint!

Some more painting and rearranging of the scene. The monk's face is now completely visible and the high contrast purple hood of the soldier behind him is used to draw the viewer's attention towards the main subject. The other soldiers are also leading the eye to wards the subject by an imaginary line starting from the drunker on the barrel down to the sleeping bloke. I hope it works :-)
