Very nice! But the guy jumping off the downed horse reminds me a little of Atlantic figures and ESCI's ACW running Union sergeant (with the polo sweater) that he looks at "the camera" rather than where he's going. Not a good idea, cameras weren't invented yet! :-D
Have been planning to build a little charge for a couple of years. Painting figures, but I need a little more variety and I had trouble with how to make the base. Now I have an aidea for the base, but don't know if it will be a reality (there are so many other funny things to paint). Got inspired to dig them up when I saw Jens wonderful spearmen.
Here are the spearmen (why the shiny base? Well, I wanted to see if they fit the base and I'm planning to use the top as a mould. They are too many, but I can get a bit of variety with the figures in the background).
And here is the charge. I don't know if I want more variety here, but I probably need it to get it more correct.
Also like the movies. About the historial accuracy (in the books), there are some inaccuracies according the Swedish battles, many of them are thought to be in other parts of the country than where they are in the books. I thought the books were a little light on the personalities, if you are evil you are only evil and very evil and if you are good you are only good and very good. And a bit too much technology when it comes to weapons, but the author loves weapons and he is much worse in other books. A bit slow? You're kidding ! It's Swedish!
I checked the 0,5 mm drill and I heard that they were expensive and fragile and then I rather buy more figures. This was a bit of a problem for me, but I can live with it.
Thanks! The ladies didn't have the same colour on their hats, but then I looked at some pictures I used as inspiration and repainted their hats without thinking that they would be the same as the men's. Hope it won't be too obvious in the finished scenes.
No, I didn't spell it wrong. There are a couple of trolls in the patroll. Must make a little forest for these fellows to hide in and wait for unsuspecting travellers. Great set of figures and great sets of weapons! Trolls are orcs from Prince August's Fantasy moulds.
First pic (with finished trolls in the background and unfinished humans in the foreground):
Sorry, these are Italeri, but it was the Valdemar set Knightly Life that got me started with this! Will paint them too! And many other figures that fit in.
Been working on them for a long time, but now I feel I must stop. I won't get them any better now. And it is a bit of relief to finish them. Yes, I will remove the bottle-cap.
