almost....I need short jerkins/doublets or shirts, rather than long tunics...

How easy is it to modify the figures to do this? The forge scene has some excellent potential for what I am after... might even help me create the oven that is down in the hold!

Well definitely depends on your skills... but should be possible if you cut/file some of the figure away and then afterwards use a Little green stuff to rebuild.
