They put me in mind of WW! trench raiders - perhaps it's the assortment of weaponry? Was wondering about a low relief diorama: cutaway of a mine or counter-mine?

Well in my mind these figures could be making an ambush like this very nice diorama up with one or two figures placed on high ground.
