a revolutionary new material

It's called EULITHE, manufactured by a firm of Padova (Italy). Today I received in the mail a few pieces of different thicknesses will be using to test this new material. It promises to be an invaluable tool for modeling. In fact, unlike the common polystyrene, it is much more workable, even on very thin, and his cut does not result in material waste (as inevitably happens with polystyrene) .. Hello to all

I´ve looked at this material a while ago, some guy made a really good looking tower with it..but I have never actually seen it for real. How soft is it?

its compactness is similar to that of polystyrene, it can work with common tools for woodworking. Its value lies in the fact that allows much more precise cuts and so can be used to construct objects of minute dimensions (such as details of doors and windows in the scale 1/72). To be more clear: when cuts a piece of polystyrene, for example of 10 cm in length, always get a piece of less than this measurement because there is no loss of material. Not so with eulithe. Basically you have a better control of the cuts. The only drawback is the price of the panels, which is as follows: 1) 3 mm 3.00 euros 2) 4 mm 4.00 euros 3) 5 mm 5.00 euros 4) 10 mm 6,00 euros 5) 15 mm 7,00 euros 6) 20 mm 9,00 euros. All the pannels are 400x 400 mm.

Thanks. The price looks a bit expensive. I´ll have to get some though. Might be usefull for small stuff like doors.

This morning I tried the new material and I can confirm that the cut is actually more precise and virtually zero leakage of material. I built a battlement tower with results significantly better than the polystyrene. Remains the lack of price a little high, but as mentioned you can limit to use it only for small structures where necessary precision of the cut (doors, windows etc. .....).

HA!!!! From looking at your pics of the archway..I think I know what this plastic is. I´ve seen similar plastic used in kitchens..under the worktops.
