5th painting competition

Well I think that it is time to announce the 5th painting competition and the subject will be:

Knights Heraldic
This is a small competition and there must be at least one knight with heraldic markings, and this or these figures should be the centre of the diorama. It can be just one figure or several, mounted or dismounted, in combat or as a private

Here are a couple quick shots of my entry.

Knights Hospitaller:

The figs are the new 3D figs from Valdemar (naturally). Very well proportioned and natural looking. My only critique would be that the detail is a bit thin in a few places ie, the scabbards and chain mail. Other than that an excellent addition to the Valdemar range!

Hi,

Well regarding the 3D miniatures then I did have the same problem, these are actually a mix of 3D models and some converting to make them look real... so the manufactured models (like those you see) are a mix of different techniques.

Regarding the Richard Lionheart then the heraldic is just impressive, only comment would be that the lions do point backwards and no knight/King would have used lions running away as their mark

For my own work the shields are hand painted, but I did get help from another person/company to do the shields...

Keep up good spirit!
